Private: List Of Ministry Of Law Licensed Moneylender

Why This List Matters More Than You Think

Seeing the list of names, licence numbers, and addresses can feel like checking boxes on a form – but it’s really more than that. When you look at the Licensed Money Lender list, you’re holding the proof that someone is working within Singapore’s legal framework, not outside it. That matters because there are too many unlicensed offers that sound fast and easy, but come with all kinds of costs and risks you don’t see until it’s too late.

A good chunk of confusion happens when people treat borrowing like a quick fix. But when you want to borrow responsibly, knowing you’re dealing with a Licensed Money Lender Singapore changes the tone of the whole process. You can ask about fees, repayment schedules, how interest is calculated – and you actually get answers you can trust.

This list isn’t just a list. It’s a way to check, again and again, that the name you’re talking to matches a regulated business. It also gives you peace of mind when you’re comparing terms or trying to understand what’s fair. After all, borrowing should help you move forward, not leave you guessing.

With the rise of unlicensed moneylenders on the Internet, Jefflee Credit has created this list of valid licensed moneylenders registered in the Republic of Singapore. This list is based on Registry of Moneylenders of the Ministry of Law, so that borrowers can be sure that they are applying a legal loan from a licensed moneylender. Under the advertising rules, which took effect on 1 November 2011, licensed moneylenders are only permitted to advertise only through these three channels: (a) business or consumer directories (in print or online media); (b) websites belonging to the moneylender; and (c) advertisements placed within or on the exterior of the moneylender’s business premises.

What is this list of licensed moneylenders about?

With the rise of unlicensed moneylenders on the Internet, Katong Credit has created this list of valid licensed moneylenders registered in the Republic of Singapore. This list is based on Registry of Moneylenders of the Ministry of Law, so that borrowers can be sure that they are applying a legal loan from a licensed moneylender.

Under the advertising rules, which took effect on 1 November 2011, licensed moneylenders are only permitted to advertise only through these three channels:
(a) business or consumer directories (in print or online media);
(b) websites belonging to the moneylender; and
(c) advertisements placed within or on the exterior of the moneylender’s business premises.

All other channels are prohibited.

(Therefore those moneylenders that you see advertising via Google Adwords and Facebook Ads, are usually unlicensed moneylenders and you should avoid them at all cost.)
